EMPTY A SPACE, LET SOMETHING INHanjiang Yao

This is a search for exploring core spirits of Chinese design and try to create fresh ideas and aesthetic standard to represent it. Learning from the history, base on present and looking to the future. Discard the false and retain the true.

Hanjiang Yao

After obtained the industrial design bachelor degree in Tsinghua University, China I came to Pratt keep learning industrial design and experienced the different culture.

My designs are functional, durable and emotional. I design with my personal philosophy, which includes my long-term study of Buddhism as well as traditional Chinese values based on the I-Chin.

My philosophy is to find harmony and achieve the dynamic balance of opposites by integrating aesthetics and usability to shape the look and feel of the product experience
